Missing fish

A few posts ago I promised you another mystery. Maybe this one isn't really as mysterious, but I don't like the answers I'm coming up with so I prefer to think it's something else. Here's the story: Last winter I had to keep the fish in a fish tank in my living room because the tank was leaking badly (I hadn't discovered hydrolic cement yet!) My favorite fish of all was a beautiful gold fish with black fins and tail and a black spot on its head. Ok, I admit, I'm shallow and often attracted to physical beauty over spiritual depth, but on the other hand we're talking about gold fish here and I don't know how to judge the spiritual depth of a gold fish. The mystery is that the beautiful fish had disappeared. Was it killed by it's companions in a jealous rage, and did they then devour it's body to hide the evidence? Or, as my more grounded friends suggest, was it eaten by a raccoon? Why did the raccoon eat my favorite fish? Is the great spirit trying to teach me a bitter lesson about detachment? Or maybe the fish just lost it's color over the summer. Seems unlikely.
