More buds

This is the massive mounds of morning glory growing near the pond from seeds that fell off last year's morning glories. I put six foot tomato poles in the dirt for them to climb up, which they did, with great enthusiasm. Now that the vines have reached the top they have no where else to go and are twining around themselves. Vicious things, morning glories, choking everything in their path, they'd probably be a horrible weed if they could survive the winter. Next year I am going to build a bent-wood trellis at the edge of the (not yet finished) upper pool and shade it with morning glories. The problem this year is that they still haven't bloomed, even though it is almost the end of August. I don't think that is normal, must be due to the very cold and wet summer we have had. I had a dream a few days ago that I woke up in the morning and the plant was covered with flowers, all different shades of pink and blue. Not so in real life, but I see some little knobs growing now which I think are buds, so perhaps I'll have bunch of colorful fall mornings - Assuming I can see them at all before I go to work at 6:30 AM now that the days are getting short again.
