My incredibly sophisticated pond maintenance technology. I started off with this pump, which was about $20, they got a much bigger, stronger one which ended up breaking. The second pump turned out to be overkill for the size of my pond. This one is enough to keep a good amount of circulation going and it never clogs or stops working. I read all of the pond literature which claims that you need to have filters and all sorts of other devices, but mine is going fine with just the natural biological processes of the microbes in the gravel. Of course the water looks a bit green, but it's a pond, not a swimming pool, and the fish & frogs & lily pads are quite happy.
