A view of the pond as seen from the second floor bedroom. Notice the rain on the surface. I think I speak for most of us here in New England when I say, enough with the rain, already! We barely get any summer as it is, and now we're not cracking 75 degrees in early August! However, to get back on topic, the frogs don't seem to be at all disturbed by the rain. Ditto for the fish, but then their already all wet so why would they care. I include this picture to give an overview of the layout of the pond. The lower pool is the lower left, the upper pool is upper right, the middle pool is lower right. There is a black water hose running from the pump in the lower pool to the top of the upper pool. Off to the upper left you can see where I dug the dirt away; this is the future location of the fourth and (soon to be) deepest pool, which will become the new upper pool and then I'll have to change the naming scheme. Note the very shallow section between the upper pool and the middle pool, followed by a waterfall of about an inch. This will be important later, stay tuned, an exciting mystery awaits!
