This weekend I finished the bottom row of stones for the new pool. In some ways this is the most difficult row, because I have to clean the dirt off of the stone in order to apply the cement. I didn't get a lot done because of the time spent cleaning the basement, which is, of course, a worthy cause, but I had better pick up the pace of building the wall because I need to get it finished in time to move the fish in before the winter. I think I will leave half the fish in the pools and bring half into the dining room again in case the others don't make it through the winter. I noticed the dark fish in the upper pool is quickly getting bigger than the others and chases them off when I feed them. He gets to be one of the test fish over the winter!
