All grown up

The turkey family came back, fortuitously just when my niece and nephew were visiting. Since they are from far enough into the city to never see turkeys they were totally thrilled. The male turkey is big enough to call, and they recorded the turkey call on their cell phones, the clever little monkeys. My niece sent me her recording, and I will post it when I figure out how. The turkeys are all really big, I couldn't tell which one was mom anymore. I wonder if they will stay together through the winter. And where they stay. And why their legs don't freeze. I should look it up. Maybe they are hunkered down on the empty but forested lot next to my house.
