I took the iron frog in for the winter, I'm not sure whether that was strictly necessary, of course this frog won't freeze but it does rust. It already has one rust spot on it's back and I think that sitting under the freezing and melting snow would make it worse. I put it on the low shelf of the stand for the small fish tank. Actually the small tnK and stand and iron frog were gifts from my friend in NH. Truthfully I kind of took the frog of my own initiative but she said it was ok.
